Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a series of answers to questions we most often get asked by guests. If you cannot find the information you’re looking for, please call us at (828) 348-8448 and we’ll do our best to answer your question(s).

Can I bring my own wine/do you have a corkage fee?

Yes, $20/bottle.

Can I bring my own dessert?

In addition to our delectable in-house sweets, we do allow outside desserts to be brought in. Please be aware that there is a $3/person outside dessert fee. We are happy to provide plates and cutlery.

What are your hours? Winter hours? Holiday hours?

We are open from 3pm-10pm Monday through Friday, and 11am-10pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Our hours do not change seasonally.

We are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Our hours do not change for other holidays, but we do occasionally close for specific events.

What is your dress code?

We ask that guests be family friendly with their attire, but welcome attire ranging from very casual to very formal.

Do you validate parking? Where should I park?

We do not offer parking validation, nor do we have a designated lot. Limited street parking is free after 6pm.  There is a small, privately owned lot beside our restaurant on Walnut St., but we recommend parking garages. There are three city-owned garages within a short walking distance; Eagle St. garage is about three blocks south of us and Rankin Ave. provides the other two garages side-by-side.

What is your address/where are you located?

We are at 27 Broadway St. Asheville, NC 28801 at the corner of Broadway St. and Walnut St. (Social Lounge is next door at 29 Broadway)

Can we bring our own decorations? Can we come early to decorate?

You are welcome to bring your own decorations, but we do ask that you refrain from bringing glitter or small confetti. Any decorating time should be included in your scheduled reservation arrival time to guarantee the table is not still occupied from a previous guest.

Can I have flowers or a card delivered to be placed on the table?

You are welcomed to have a flower, card, or gift basket delivery sent to our restaurant as long as we know in advance to expect someone, and we will put a note on your reservation to ensure your items are placed on the table before your arrival. *We do not offer these services ourselves.* We can recommend Shady Grove Flowers as a local option to call. They offer same-day delivery when ordered by 2pm and can be reached at (828)236-1713.

Can I pre-order/pre-purchase apps/desserts/wine for an upcoming reservation?

We are happy to have a manager help with this on the day of the reservation. We are unable to store card information for future usage, and must order the items at the time of the meal to ensure proper pacing and a smooth dining experience.

Do you do anything for birthdays?

We offer a complimentary mini cannoli with a candle for birthdays and anniversaries. We can add a candle to any dessert should you wish to order something else for the guest of honor.

How long will you hold a table for someone running late?

We will hold a table for up to 15 minutes without guest contact until we offer the table to any potentially waiting parties and charge a no-show/cancellation fee. If you call the restaurant and speak to one of our team members, we are very flexible about holding your table for additional time as needed, depending on restaurant availability.

How far in advance can I book a reservation?

We offer reservations as far as 90 days in advance. Private events can be booked by filling out the “Contact Catering” form on our website as far as 10 months advance.

How long is your wait?

Our wait times vary, depending on several factors, including but not limited to the time of year, the day of the week, and the weather. You’re welcome to call us any time to check our wait times. Some nights, the only availability might be limited to bar seating. We recommend making reservations. We are unable to add parties to the waitlist over the phone.

Can I walk-in to your bar? Is it open? Is it first-come first-served?

Our host is happy to offer bar seating, and our bar is always open for full service dining on a walk-in-only and first-come, first-served basis. As we get busier throughout the evening, bar seats may be placed on a waiting list and are always seated through the host.

Can I come in just for a drink?

We welcome guests to enjoy as little or as much as they would like at our establishment, and recommend bar seats for guests seeking drink-only service. Bar seats are non-reservable and available by checking in with the host. We can book a table if requested.

Can I get added to the waitlist?

Please check in with the host at the door to be added to our waitlist. We are unable add guests to the waitlist over the phone. Guests calling ahead can be added to our ‘notify list’ in the event of a cancellation, but notifications arrive only via email.

Do you offer catering? Can I place a catering order?

Our Catering and Events team is more than happy to assist with any and all questions regarding catering. We recommend filling out the quick “Contact Catering” form on our website. Replies will arrive via email, usually by the next business day.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes! We have a guest Wi-Fi network available for each side of the restaurant and any of our staff can help get you connected.

Do you have karaoke or live music?

We feature artists on the Social Lounge rooftop, weather permitting, on a case by case basis. Sometimes there is confusion with another bar in East Asheville called “The Social,” which does feature karaoke and a late night bar scene.

Can I go to your rooftop bar?

Our rooftop patio features several full-service reservable tables and a small indoor bar. We would be happy to offer walk-in seating at tables outside, when available, or bar seats inside.

What is the difference between these table descriptions online?

Anything listed as “Indoor Dining Stairs Possible” will be a traditional table option in our main Strada dining room, which features an Old-World European, trattoria-style environment. Anything listed as “Indoor Lounge, hightop, booth, or half-booth” will be in our Speakeasy Lounge atmosphere which is more casual but still elegant and features the same menu. Anything listed as “Rooftop Patio” will be outside. We do also feature a list of table descriptions under the “Reservations” section on our website.

Can I purchase a gift card?

We are happy to have a manager assist with any gift card purchases. They can be purchased in-person or over the phone and mailed out, but we do not currently offer an online option.

Can I add people to my party?

We can accommodate up to a total of 18 guests in a single party, and depending on table availability, we will always say yes when we can.

Do you accept American Express?

Our online ordering system for delivery does not accept AMEX, but we as an establishment do. We also accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We can happily assist with pick-up orders over the phone.

Are you hiring?

We are always accepting applications and you can visit our Careers page to fill out an application online.

Do you accept gift cards?

We accept Strada gift cards, which can be purchased on-site. We are unable to accept other gift cards, such as Visa pre-paid.

What is your cancellation policy/why can’t I book a reservation online without entering my card information?

You may be charged $10/person if you provide less than 6 hours notice for dinner on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for all party sizes. We are very flexible about this as long as you call the restaurant directly before we open for dinner service or with as much notice as possible. All parties of seven or more have the same rate, but we ask for a 24-hour notice if possible. We do not charge a deposit nor do we place a hold or pre-authorization on your card, and we cannot access it for any purpose other than a cancellation fee charged through the reservations system.

Do you allow dogs?

In accordance with Asheville city ordinance, we can only welcome service animals to dine with us, even on the rooftop.
